This is the original Colors by Number app, an interactive color palette code editor that identifies, generates and displays unique color combinations defined in RGB, HSB, and Hexadecimal HTML color models. Furthermore, Colors by Number offers multiple options for viewing, editing, saving and exporting your selections from literally billions of combinations of one to four colors displayed in 10 different geometric designs through an intuitive and customizable user interface. What began as an experimental Flash project in 2003 has evolved through multiple iterations including an early version written in HTML5. Colors by Number first appeared on the Apple App Store in 2011. Today, Colors by Number serves creative professionals, educators, artists, architectural and interior designers, textile designers, color specialists and developers – to complement the use of color in the mediums and applications of their choice – in the studio, the office, at home and beyond. It’s also a fun and effective teaching tool for introducing students to the nuances of color theory and its application as an immediate, personal experience.
